Spruce Kings Double Up at NHL Entry Draft

Logan Neaton – Selected 144th overall in the fifth round by the Winnipeg Jets

Prince George Spruce Kings goaltender, Logan Neaton, was selected 144th overall in the fifth round by the Winnipeg Jets.

Neaton garnered attention this year putting up impressive regular season numbers and later backstopping the Spruce Kings to a BCHL Fred Page Cup title with a 16-1 record in the playoffs in 2018-19.

The Brighton, MI native appeared in 47 games for Prince George throughout the 2018-19 regular season, posting a 32-8-0 record with a 1.92 goals against average (GAA) and a .914 save percentage (Sv%).

Layton Ahac – Selected 86th overall by the Vegas Golden Knights

Prince George Spruce Kings defenseman, Layton Ahac, was selected 86th overall in the third round by the Vegas Golden Knights.

Ahac notched 4 goals, 28 assists, 32 points in 53 games from the back end, but the second-year blueliner really shone in the post-season. He was an integral part of the Spruce Kings championship run, averaging a point per game with 17 points (5 G, 12 A) in 17 playoff games.

Ahac is committed to Ohio State University (NCAA) and is expected to play there in 2019-2020.
